The goal of this 24-hour course is to train instructors and to provide an overview of changes made to the Florida Basic Recruit Training Program: High Liability Firearms. This update course is mandatory for all Firearms Instructors and must be completed by June 30, 2023 to be eligible to teach the new Firearms curriculum starting July 1, 2023 and to renew your Firearms Instructor certification. The goal of this 24-hour course is to train instructors and to provide an overview of changes made to the Florida Basic Recruit Training Program: High Liability Firearms. This update course is mandatory for all Firearms Instructors and must be completed by June 30, 2023 to be eligible to teach the new Firearms curriculum starting July 1, 2023 and to renew your Firearms Instructor certification. Day 1: 0800-1700 hours. Day 2: 1300-2200 hours. Day 3: 0800-1700 hours. Instructor Students will be required to qualify on each course. Failure on any course is an exit point from the update course. There is NO remediation for Instructor level courses. Pre-Requisites: • Current Criminal Justice and Training Commission General Instructor Certification • High Liability Instructor Certification for Firearms Upon completion of the instructor update course number, participants will be authorized to teach the Firearms Instructor Update course and instruct the new updated Firearms Curriculum starting in 2023.
