Course Name:    SHOTS FIRED! An Analysis of Officer-Involved Shooting Cases in Central Florida
Course Description:    This 2 hour seminar is delivered by by FDLE Senior Management Analyst Supervisor Lori Sanders. This seminar examines the details of Officer-Involved Shooting cases and identifies characteristics and trends that were common to these incidents. In 2011, the state of Florida lead the nation with the highest number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. So far, in 2012, Florida is once again in the lead. This seminar will answer will provide administrators, supervisors and patrol officers with important information about Officer-Involved Shootings. It will answer many questions, like; Do similarities exist between incidents where deadly force is used, either by the officer or the suspect? Can knowledge of the characteristics of deadly force scenarios be used as a learning tool to increase officer safety?
